· Chairman of the local Scouting Abbé Pierre Nieuwveen, active since 1974. Collaborating with other associations and municipal authorities to keep social life in the village going

· Chairman of the foundation R.K. Jeugdraad in Nieuwveen, active since 1984. This foundation maintains and facilitates “De Mettenburcht”, a building that serves as a shelter for local associations for young and old and family gatherings of residents

· Involved with the local political party to review and comment on plans/initiatives

· In recognition of my volunteer work, I was decorated as ‘Lid in de Orde van Oranje-Nassau’ in April 2020, a royal honor
